That 50lb lapdog counts as a cat in at least 12 states.

The idea that worth and civic duty is based on desire or ability to reproduce is ridiculous and archaic (deep historical [worldwide] roots here, unfortunately, that appeal to a party that when asked when we were great so we can be again reply with times when slavery, Jim Crow, lack of women’s suffrage were still in practice). I’m not feeling a great deal of outrage on anyone’s behalf here — we have all been conditioned out of outrage over the last eight years. Now, it’s one more thing to roll our eyes about.

Thoughts on expanding the Supreme Court? The nine justices were originally to correspond to the nine circuits — and now there are 13…?

I think reforms to the Supreme Court need to be made because the public has lost confidence in the court. I haven’t studied the topic much at all and am open to being persuaded on specifics.

I only take exception to your comment that Trump’s insults are funny. There is nothing funny about this horror show of a man. Other than that, great writing! My miserable childless self is drinking a cold beer, watching “Bad Faith” on Prime! All while loving my dogs and cats!

I’m not suggesting that it’s okay to be mean as long as you’re funny. It isn’t. But I do think Trump’s insulting comments are effective because they are funny. Does that distinction make sense?

I guess I need an example of a funny insult. I’m old and slow.

His campaign flew a plane over the Iowa State Fair as Ron DeSantis held an event there. The plane was pulling a banner that read, "Be likable, Ron!" That's mean, and I don't condone it, but it's definitely funny.

It’s perfectly acceptable to be mean to Ron DeSantis.

A bit like the idea of childless parents not needing to pay taxes for the education of other people’s children
